Minorities in Japan [Audio]
Worldview looks at Japan as a heterogeneous society where minority issues complicate Japan's identity. First, Andrea Wenzel looks at how many minority residents of Japan, including Koreans, etc., are excluded from mainstream Japanese society -- even when they are born and raised there. Then, a talk with University of Chicago's Norma Field about tensions between mainland Japan and Okinawa, where there is ongoing controversy over the American military bases. The Japanese will not tolerate them on mainland Japan.

Nationalism & U.S.-Japan Security Policy [Audio]
A look at nationalism and its effect on U.S.-Japan relations, including how nationalism has grown and changed in recent years and how the U.S. is reacting. Then, Michael Green of the Council on Foreign Relations and John Hopkins University discusses how the U.S.-Japan security alliance has fared under these pressures and what should be done to improve it.
