The Chicago Matters: Valuing Education Student Lounge is a place where students can share their thoughts on their educational experiences through essays and artwork.

| Curie Youth Radio is a writing and radio production class at Curie High School on Chicago's southwest side. Students produce their own pieces, offering fresh takes on everything from snowball fights to gang warfare. They see their stories as a way for teenagers at one Chicago high school to reach out to the rest of the world. Curie Youth Radio segments can be heard regularly on Chicago Public Radio's Eight Forty-Eight.

Through After School Matters, teens who attend Chicago Public Schools learn skills they can transfer to the workplace. Students, working closely with adults and their peers, are exposed to educational and career opportunities in both their neighborhoods and the city at large. After School Matters programs are anchored around clusters of public high schools, parks, and libraries.
