CHICAGO MATTERS: Education Matters
Global
Education
May 22, 2001
While social studies
is instrumental in shaping how students view the world and their own communities,
it often does not receive the same attention as reading and math. In spite
of this, there are innovative programs throughout the city that are helping
students engage with international affairs. The Berlin Study Abroad Program
for Chicago high school juniors and Seward
Student Network, a morning TV news program, are two such programs. Chicago
Public Radio's Andrea Wenzel
visited with participants and organizers of both programs during her Chicago
Matters report.
