Lisa Labuz

Morning Anchor and Local Host, Morning Edition

As morning anchor and local host of Morning Edition, Lisa hosts local news from Chicago on NPR’s morning news program. Lisa joined the staff of Chicago Public Radio in January 1999 as a reporter for Morning Edition.

Prior to joining Chicago Public Radio, Lisa worked as a reporter and host of Morning Edition for WUWM Milwaukee Public Radio. She was part of a team of reporters that earned several awards for three series of reports that focused on aging, schools and people working non-conventional jobs in Milwaukee. The series was honored by theAssociated Press, the Wisconsin Broadcasters Association, the Milwaukee Press Club and the Northwest Broadcasting News Association.

Lisa also was a staff reporter and host of Morning Edition and All Things Considered at WGLT in Normal, Illinois, and has been a reporter for the Great Lakes Radio Consortium.

Lisa has a B.S. in English and Liberal Arts from Illinois State University.

Originally from Clarendon Hills, Illinois, Lisa resides in Oak Park with her husband, Christopher.
