Michael Scott's Gun Found at Death Scene

AP/File
Evidence collected by the Chicago Police indicates that school board president Michael Scott was not murdered, but rather, committed suicide.

Police Superintendent Jody Weis says a gun found at the scene of Scott's death was purchased by Scott in 1981. That was before the city's handgun ban took effect though Weis noted the gun was not currently registered and should have been. Tests also found gun shot residue on Scott's hand but police are continuing the investigation.

WEIS: We still have a few ends we'd like to tie up. We're waiting for ballistics to determine if that weapon, the rounds in that weapon actually caused the wound to his head and there's some video footage we want to cover.

Weis says there's no video of the death scene but camera's could have caught Scott's car on the way to the scene which could let investigators know if Scott was driving alone or if he was with someone. Weis says Scott's money clip and phone were also found at the scene ruling out a robbery. Weis' comments come as a group of ministers and activists say they don't believe Scott would have killed himself.

Nothing can be so bad to kill yourself. If he is happy, then may he rest in peace.
