Michael Oren is Israel’s Ambassador to the United States
The UN General Assembly announced it will further discuss next week the report called the "
United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict
." The report, by South African Judge Richard Goldstone, accuses Israel and Palestinian militants of war crimes in Gaza. The General Assembly will decide what, if any further action should be taken on the report. Critics, including the Israeli government, have called the report a witch hunt against Israel, while others say the report doesn’t go far enough in documenting what they see as atrocities by the Israeli military.
Also, Amnesty International on Tuesday accused Israel in a
Report
of denying adequate water supplies to the Palestinians. The report goes on to say that some 180,000 to 200,000 Palestinians living in rural communities have no access to running water and the Israeli army often prevents them from even collecting rainwater. In contrast, Israeli settlers in the West Bank have intensive-irrigation farms, lush gardens and swimming pools. The Israeli government rejects the report’s findings as “distorted and superficial.”
We’ll discuss these issues and the Middle East peace process today with
Michael Oren
. You may remember Michael as a guest on our program to discuss two of his books,
The Six Day War
and
Power, Faith, and Fantasy: America in the Middle East: 1776 to the Present
. Michael now serves as
Israel’s Ambassador
to the United States. And Michael Oren is clear on what he thinks of the United Nations Fact Finding Mission on the Gaza Conflict…

Watch the 2004 BBC video of Israeli soldiers demolishing reservoirs Palestinian farmers built to catch rain water because Israel wont give them any water. In other words, Ambassador Oren is lying through his teeth:
