According to a new report by Swedish researchers, waste flowing out of a treatment plant near Hyderabad, India pollutes the region's waters with some of the highest levels of pharmaceuticals ever detected in the local environment. The researchers claimed to detect high levels of an antibiotic and antihistamine in the waters which they believe has affected the development of marine wildlife.
India’s Textile Industry is also accused of being a major polluter, dumping tons of toxic waste into the rivers of the Hyderabad area.
