A Los Angeles Times film critic recently declared Dariush Mehrjui “one of Iran’s most accomplished and courageous filmmakers for four decades.” 

His 1969 film “The Cow” made him an Iranian New Wave cinema icon. 

And while he’s won dozens of awards internationally, he has faced extensive censorship back home. 

Worldview Film Commenter Milos Stehlik talked with Dariush recently. 

Milos asked him why he has had such trouble getting his films shown in Iran.
