For writer Jacqueline Taylor, religion and family were pretty much one and the same.
Her father was a minister for a Southern Baptist Church.
From early childhood, Taylor was told to listen for her calling.
So, she started on the path to become a missionary.
But she found that her calling was pretty different than she or her family had believed it would be.
Taylor’s written about her spiritual journey in her new book, Waiting for the Call: From Preachers’ Daughter to Lesbian Mom.
And she talked recently with Eight Forty-Eight contributor Vanessa Bush.
Taylor says her experience is not unique.
