The Friends of the Chicago River hosted their 15th annual River Clean-Up Day this past Saturday.

Every year, thousands of volunteers take on the task of cleaning up the river and its bank, removing everything from plastic bottles to cars.

But rather than rolling up her sleeves and putting on rubber gloves, Eight Forty-Eight’s Gianofer Fields decided to take her own approach to finding out just how polluted the river is.
