Radio M Fridays at 9pm
About | Archive | Extras | Contact
Friday, May 8, 2009
This week, it's another dose of From the Stage, this time with African artist Dobet Gnahore.

The African singer songwriter has an electrifying stage presence: her frenetic dance moves and strong voice had the audience at the 2008 Old Town School of Folk Music's Folk and Roots Festival on its feet for most of her set.

Radio M was there rolling tape and it's this week's From the Stage.

Also, it's the second Friday of the month and that means The Featured Album. This month we reach back to Brazil 1970 and one of Brazil's most revered artists: Jorge Ben.

His 1970 classic Forca Bruta mixes samba and soul with an overall laid- back feel that immediately invites the listener into what sounds like a spontaneous session. Close your eyes and imagine yourself on Impanema Beach!
