 Richard Steele sits in this week to talk with bassist and composer Doug Lofstrom, who has been working in different musical genres since the 1970s. He composes for the stage, dance, film and symphonies. His work has been performed by the St. Louis, Atlanta and Oregon Symphony Orchestras, as welll as by the modern classical music ensemble CUBE. Lofstrom also composes for, and performs in The New Quartet. The five-piece chamber group has a new album entitled NQ + (x).

Plus, a visit  to Rogers Park of the 1970s for a taste of Crossing California, the solo work of former Grandaddy guitarist Jim Fairchild and the French side of the Chicago History Museum.
