Beyond Borders
Chicago Matters this year will be a year-long multimedia series focused on immigration. Our goal is to report on how this global issue has affected the Chicago region. What is different about the immigration experience here? Who comes here and why? How has that changed over time? We’ll examine the policy debate in Washington and how it contrasts with state and local immigration policy, and explore what the Chicago immigration experience reveals about the region’s position within a global economy.
