Beyond Borders: Alfonso's Story
At least half a million undocumented immigrants live and work in Chicago and the city’s suburbs.  Alfonso crossed over the Arizona border in 1997. But without legal papers he has often found himself on the fringes, despite a desire to become a part of this society. He began to write to about his experience in poetry, in English, as a way to bridge that gap. Producer Alexandra Salomon brings us his story.
