The Ledge Opens at the Sears Tower
The days of leaning up against the Sears Tower windows for a better view are over. Starting Thursday a glass viewing deck called the Ledge offers a straight down look at the city from the 103rd floor.
Angie Wittmier was very hesitant about walking on to the glass ledge. But once she finally did it, she could see 1353 feet straight down to Wacker Drive.
WITTMIER: It's amazing, amazing. I've never seen anything like this. It's straight down. It's a long way. It's really quite a rush out there.
The Sears Tower Ledge was in the works for about a year and a half before it opened. It's part of a multi-million dollar renovation project that's supposed to give visitors never before seen views of the city.
