Children in Guatemala who are part of the Ninos Del Lago program.
It’s Thursday, and time for our Global Activism series. Each Thursday we hear about an individual who’s decided to work to make the world a better place.

Kristen Hettrick is Associate Director of Ninos Del Lago. The organization is building an educational recreation facility for some of Guatemala’s poorest kids near Lake Atiklan. Eventually, they plan to run a camp for the kids. Kristen had gone to Guatemala to study Spanish. That’s where she met the founder of Ninos Del Lago, Alrene Cervantes.
