Bookmark and Share Share

Remy Bumppo Theatre Company and the Vet Art Project present the Warrior Poetry Project, an hour-long poetry reading of original poetry written and performed by Vietnam War Veterans and guest artists from Remy Bumppo. This event features poets and veterans Matt Ping, Timothy Brien, A.D. Moore, Tyler Zabel, Remy Bumppo Artistic Associate Greg Matthew Anderson, and Lookingglass Theatre Ensemble Member Raymond Fox (The Voysey Inheritance).

Prior to the poetry reading, Remy Bumppo presented a matinee performance of Heroes, the hilarious story of three WWI veterans who get a second chance for one momentous mission.

To learn more about the Vet Art Project, listen to this story on Chicago Public Radio's morning news show 848.

Recorded Sunday, November 22, 2009 at The Greenhouse Theater.

This was a wonderful evening of poetry and sharing by the vets and artists with the Vet Art Project and Remy Bumpo theater. Many audience members came up afterward and said their thanks for sharing our stories and for the service we provided for our country. It was great to be welcomed in the theater and to have a very receptive audience, one of the best poetry readings I have attended and performed for. Thank you to WBEZ for recording it in its entirety and for presenting it to the public.

I love the Vet Art Project! It's been extremely helpful in my wellness and recovery.
