Defendants Involved in Derrion Albert Beating Death Plead Not Guilty

Three young men accused of beating a Chicago Public School student to death in a high profile case have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.
Silvonus Shannon, Eric Carson and Eugene Riley appeared in criminal court today. The filing read that the three young men killed Derrion Albert with their fists, feet and planks of wood. They all pleaded not guilty to the first degree murder charge. Bob Byman represents Shannon.
BYMAN: This is also a case that is more complicated than the initial public reaction. It's not clear cut that they are actually guilty.
The mob fight that resulted in Albert's death gained international attention after video captured on a cell phone camera was released. The three defendants head back to court next month for a status hearing.
A fourth person has been charged in the murder. But the 14-year-old's case is in juvenile court.

There is no accountability and no justice in the Cook County juvenile court system.
Violent, brutal offenders walk because the judges say they believe in 'balance and restorative justice' for the juvenile, NOT for the crime victim.
On the other hand, some juveniles are locked up in the juvenile detention center for truancy!!! Truants are locked up with with murderers.
This is ridiculous. There should be serious investigations of the juvenile justice system. The public is alarmed. Even the cops are alarmed!
