New Long-Term Medical Center for Veterans Coming to Chicago
Produced by Tony Arnold on Wednesday, November 11, 2009

A new long-term medical center for veterans is coming to Chicago's Northwest Side. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn announced plans to construct the 200-bed facility as part of the state's capital plan lawmakers approved earlier this year.
QUINN: We have four of them in Illinois. They are excellent facilities. There are none in the immediate Chicago area so hopefully within the not-too-distant future we're going to have a veterans' home at Chicago.
Quinn says construction on the $65-million project is expected to last 12- to 14-months. He says one wing of the long-term medical center will be devoted specifically to veterans with Alzheimer's Disease.
