For the past couple of weeks, high school students at
Kenwood Academy
in Hyde Park have been treated to a special substitute teacher of sorts. They’ve been working with Grammy Award-winning vocalist
Cassandra Wilson
on jazz composition, improvisation and culture. She’s been working to get the kids ready to help her kick off the
Hyde Park Jazz Festival
. We stopped by a rehearsal earlier this week to get a preview of what’s expected Friday night.
Richard talks to Kenwood Senior Thomas Stovall, Kenwood Junior Imani Ramey and Cassandra Wilson.
Event:
Hyde Park Jazz Festival
