Bookmark and Share Share

Chicago's Olympic Committee is headed to Switzerland this week. It's the next step in the city's efforts to win the 2016 Summer Games.

A group from the International Olympic Committee's already come to Chicago to check out the city. Now Chicago 2016 and Mayor Daley are going to the IOC. The team will present the details of Chicago's bid on Wednesday and take questions.

In a statement, Patrick Ryan, the group's head, says they'll be demonstrating "how well-prepared Chicago is" to host the Games.

The decision on who gets the summer Olympics will come on October 2. The other cities in the running are Madrid, Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo.
