Dueling Critics: The Private Lives of Eskimos
|

Grief can be a terrible state. It gives you a sense of utter isolation and loneliness, as if adrift on an iceberg in the frozen north. That’s how Marvin is feeling. Marvin has recently lost his sister to a terrorist attack. He’s also misplaced his cell phone, which in this day and age means he’s really off from the rest of the world.
Marvin is the protagonist in Ken Urban’s play, The Private Lives of Eskimos, put on by the Mill Theatre. Eight Forty-Eight’s dueling critics Jonathan Abarbanel and Kelly Kleiman have this review.
The Private Lives of Eskimos (or 16 words for snow) runs through February 7 at Stage Left Theatre on N. Sheffield Avenue in Chicago’s Lakeview neighborhood.
