Motorola Cuts More Jobs

Motorola is announcing a new round of job cuts. The Schaumburg-based company expects to immediately eliminate about 4,000 positions.
Motorola says about 3,000 of the job cuts will come from its Mobile Devices section and another thousand from corporate and other business units. This announcement comes on top of 3,000 other job cuts Motorola announced last month. All together, the company expects to save a total of $1.5 billion from the lay-offs.
In a statement, Motorola executives said the cuts will help ensure the company "remains competitive and financially strong during these challenging times."
The company is anticipating fourth quarter revenue of about $7 billion, undercutting analyst expectations.
