Schakowsky Condemns Governor Senate Appointment
Produced by Tony Arnold on Tuesday, December 30, 2008

One senate hopeful from Illinois is condemning Governor Rod Blagojevich for naming his pick to the U.S. Senate today. Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky was one of the first to publicly express her interest in replacing Barack Obama in the senate. She says she's puzzled by the governor's logic in making the appointment.
SCHAKOWSKY: I think this is going to create, actually, more controversy around the governor and I don't think it's going to be widely accepted.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid today reiterated past statements that the senate won't approve anyone the governor names.
Meantime, another senate candidate, Illinois Congressman Danny Davis, says he hopes Roland Burris fills the appointment because Davis says Burris has an extensive public service background.

schakowsky thrives on chaos, and ergo really won't have much to rattle about with oba in place in the oval office and burris in the senate. there's no place for her in the house leadership.
mr. davis, well the gentleman would have never raised the capital for a serious candidacy in two years.
more than likely the sen seat will go to the republicans in two years.
