Duckworth: 'Not Right' to Speculate About Senate Seat

Bookmark and Share Share

Illinois' Veterans' Affairs Director Tammy Duckworth this morning was surrounded by reporters asking her about the state's open Senate seat. Federal prosecutors allege that Governor Rod Blagojevich, who alone has the power to fill that seat, was trying to enrich himself by selling the seat. Duckworth has been mentioned as a possible candidate for the job.

At an unrelated news conference Wednesday morning at the Hines VA Hospital, Duckworth declined to specifially answer reporters' questions about the corruption probe. She did say she has never talked with the governor about the Senate seat.

this woman has a tendency to whine. her war injuries are a drag, but she enlisted to fight a war of 'choice', and none of that should merit political consideration.

Wow- that was mean and not true Jeff- Tammy is not a "whiner" and she did choose to serve our country- most people , including myself, did not choose to get involved in this "war"- I think her good works and her desire to serve thus far have merited political consideration- not anything else. She does not deserve your comments.
