“The greatest economic crisis since the Great Depression.” It’s a phrase we’ve heard again and again in recent months. Another well-known phrase is “Those who cannot learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.” Historian Jim Grossman of the Newberry Library discusses the toll the Great Depression had on our city, and what we might learn from it.
