Kollin with his specialist
Today we conclude our Autism Chronicles series, with the third part of Amy Thompson’s story. Thompson is a single mother who juggles a job at a nursing home and the job of raising two children, one of whom has autism. Six-year-old Kollin attends a special class for kids with autism and other developmental delays. This week, we’ve been following Thompson as she tries to find ways to help her son. Today, Kollin and his mom see a specialist.

Our story on Amy Thompson is produced by Dan Collison and Elizabeth Meister for Long Haul Productions, in association with Chicago Public Radio. Partial funding comes from the Coleman Foundation.
