Back in 1933, when Chicago’s Museum of Science and Industry first opened its doors, hybrid cars and solar heating were just flickers in some enterprising young minds. Now, as the museum turns seventy-five, some of those concepts have become reality – in fact, they sit on the institution’s East lawn. The new exhibit, Smart Home: Green + Wired, combines the hottest eco-friendly technology in a functional home.
