The co-creator of Dungeons and Dragons died yesterday at his home in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Gary Gygax was 69 years old.

It's a sad day for dungeon masters. And Gary Gygax's wife, Gail, has a few words of comfort.

GAIL: Gary would have wanted everybody to know, especially his fans, how much he appreciated them and cared for them.

Gail says players from around the world would visit them at their home. And they sometimes had trouble leaving.

GAIL: We actually would get people to come here and spend their last dime getting to our front door and have no money to get home. It was great.

Gail says funeral arrangements are being planned.

For Chicago Public Radio, I'm Hunter Clauss.
