Short Film Brigade Celebrates Brevity in Art

Over the years, we’ve gotten used to seeing movies that are at least 90 minutes long. But filmmaker Xan Aranda is trying to shake up that expectation. As curator and executive director of the non-profit Short Film Brigade, she’s celebrating the art of the short film form both here in Chicago, and beyond. The festival is hosting its annual “Best Of” event tonight.

Aranda recently talked with Eight Forty-Eight’s Alison Cuddy, and explained the wonders of the short film.
