A controversial Planned Parenthood clinic opened in Aurora back in October, but opponents are still smoldering over how its doors opened in the first place. Anti-abortion activists are pinning their hopes on a zoning appeal that continues tonight.
Planned Parenthood used a front company to apply for its building permit. When word got out this summer, Aurora reviewed Planned Parenthood's applications.
In the end, it let the clinic open.
That's when the anti-abortion Thomas More Society appealed. At a zoning meeting tonight, attorney Peter Breen will argue the city's keeping documents secret.
BREEN: Misrepresentation has been admitted in this case, and yet for some reason the city's trying to cover up what happened after the misrepresentation occurred. And we believe there needs to be a full, fair and transparent process in order to ensure the public trust in this case, and that's not happened.
An Aurora spokesperson says it's turned over all relevant documents about the Planned Parenthood clinic.
