CTA Presents Orange Line Extension Options

The Chicago Transit Authority is sketching out plans to extend the Orange Line. A public meeting will take place tonight at the Ford City Mall, the proposed end of the line. It now stops at Midway Airport.

Lenora Daily from the Greater Southwest Development Corporation says it’s about time the CTA extended service in the area.

DAILY: We’ve been long ignored. A lot of attention has been paid on to the north side of Chicago and other areas but the Southwest side has a lot to provide to the city of Chicago.

The CTA says funds haven’t been slated for any addition to the line. It’s proposing several other options to increase service to the area, including adding dedicated bus lanes on Cicero Avenue.
