Rob Wildeboer

Criminal Justice Reporter

As a criminal justice reporter for Chicago Public Radio, Rob is responsible for covering courts and politics in the region.

Rob joined Chicago Public Radio in September 2004 as an intern for Eight Forty-Eight, later becoming a freelance contributor for the news department.

Rob's reporting has been recognized with two Edward R. Murrow Awards, a PRNDI, and he’s received numerous awards from the Associated Press in both Illinois and Indiana.  In 2008, AP Illinois named him the best news writer in the state. Take that WBBM.

Prior to joining Chicago Public Radio, Rob worked as a human resource specialist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. He was also a political consultant for Strategic Consulting Group. Rob teaches journalism at North Park University. 

Rob has an M.A. in Journalism from Columbia College and a B.A. in Philosophy from Calvin College.

Originally from Toronto, Ontario, Rob resides in the Ukrainian Village neighborhood of Chicago with his wife, Christine.
