Alison Cuddy

Senior Producer, Chicago Matters; Co-Host, Eight Forty-Eight

Alison is host Tuesdays and Thursdays of Chicago Public Radio’s award-winning weekday newsmagazine Eight Forty-Eight.

Alison is also the senior producer of Chicago Matters, the year-long series examining various topics of broad interest to the region. In 2008 the series will explore growth and sustainability in and around our metropolis.

Alison joined the staff of Chicago Public Radio in August 2001 as associate producer for the nationally-syndicated program Odyssey. In addition to the daily program, Alison produced Odyssey’s live specials, including the two-hour Dissent and Democracy in Chicago and a remote live program on Wealth and Politics from Memphis, Tennessee. She also programmed the show’s Film Forum Friday segment.

Prior to joining Chicago Public Radio, Alison worked in the Immigration Department of ThoughtWorks, Inc. in Chicago, and was an adjunct professor at DePaul University as well as a teaching fellow at the University of Pittsburgh.

She holds an M.A. in English from the University of Pittsburgh and a B.F.A. in Cinema Studies from Concordia University in Montreal.

Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Alison currently resides in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago.
